Aran knitting originated in the Aran Isles, off the West coast of Ireland as a way of making fishermen's sweaters thicker, and therefore warmer.

This workshop is for confident knitters who would like to try a variety of cable designs and learn the techniques of cable knitting including how to read a pattern.

We will provide you with a ball of Aran wool and a cable needle to get you started.
