Choosing your colours

Choosing colours is one of the most enjoyable parts of starting a new project — but with so much choice, it can also be one of the hardest.

Here are a few simple ideas to help:

Start with a colour you love and build your palette around it.
Think about where or how your finished piece will be used — clothing, home décor and gifts may all call for different choices.
Use complementary colours for contrast, or shades from the same colour family for a softer, coordinated look.
Consider light and dark tones — varying the depth of colour can add definition and interest.
Put the yarns together with us in the shop before deciding. Colours can look very different alongside one another than they do individually. They also look very different when looking on a website.
